DevOps & Platform Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer at TalentRoots, you are the engine behind the Software Delivery Lifecycle. You don’t just build servers; you design, provision, and maintain the platforms and pipelines that allow developers to deploy applications safely, quickly, and reliably.

You bridge the gap between Development and Cloud Infrastructure, working with Azure, AWS, or GCP. While you thrive on automation, you also ensure production-grade reliability and scalable platform operations.

This role gives you a mix of hands-on infrastructure, platform engineering, and automation consulting, across exciting client projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform & Cloud Infrastructure: Provision, configure, and maintain production-grade cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP), including networking, storage, and security.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Own the lifecycle of application-specific and platform infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or OpenTofu. Ensure reproducibility, modularization, and version control.
• CI/CD & Automation: Design, build, and optimize deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI. Implement Blue/Green, Canary, or GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux) strategies.
• Kubernetes & Containers: Manage and maintain AKS/EKS clusters, Helm charts, ingress controllers, secrets, and container registries. Ensure cluster reliability and observability.
• Developer Experience (DevEx): Build self-service tooling and ‘Golden Paths’ so developers can safely provision their own environments.
• SRE & Observability: Implement logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting to ensure production stability and proactive incident prevention.
• DevSecOps: Integrate automated security, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks into pipelines and platform workflows.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with developers and client teams to solve bottlenecks, transfer knowledge, and drive platform best practices.

Your Profile

• 3-6+ years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability role, ideally within a consultancy or fast-paced tech environment.
• Pipeline Mastery: You know the ins and outs of modern CI/CD tools and understand how to build complex, multi-stage deployment workflows.
• IaC Proficiency: Solid experience with Terraform, OpenTofu, or Bicep. You understand how to manage state and modularize code.
• Kubernetes Fluent: You are comfortable working with K8s, Docker, and Container Registries. You know your way around a deployment.yaml.
• Scripting Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. If it’s a manual task, you’ve already scripted it.
• Security Mindset: You understand the “Shift-Left” principle and know how to manage secrets (HashiCorp Vault/Key Vault) securely.
• Collaborative Mindset: You enjoy working closely with software developers to solve their bottlenecks. You speak both “Infra” and “App.”
• Fluent in Dutch and English, with the ability to document your pipelines so clearly that anyone can use them.
