Infrastructure (Hybrid & Enterprise) Solutions Architect

About the Role

As an Infrastructure Solutions Architect at TalentRoots, you are the strategic guide for clients with complex, hybrid landscapes. You design the blueprints that seamlessly connect legacy systems (VMware, on-prem storage) with modern cloud-native solutions. You advise C-level stakeholders on migration paths, security, and the transition to a future-proof infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Hybrid Ecosystem Design: Architect and lead the implementation of unified environments where on-premise datacenters, private clouds (VMware/Nutanix), and public clouds (Azure/AWS/GCP) function as a single, high-performance ecosystem.
• Strategic Modernization Roadmaps: Conduct deep-dive assessments of existing legacy hardware, storage, and networking. You don’t just advise; you create high-impact transformation roadmaps that balance technical debt with innovation.
• Enterprise Governance & Security: Define the ‘Rules of the Game’ by establishing rigorous frameworks for hybrid identity (Entra ID/AD), network micro-segmentation, and compliance (NIS2/ISO) across all layers.
• Business Value & TCO Modeling: Translate complex architectural choices into clear business cases. You build Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models that justify investments to CFOs and provide clear ROI for the business.
• Design Authority: Act as the design authority during the implementation phase, bridging the gap between high-level strategy and hands-on engineering to ensure the final result matches the vision.
• Consultancy & Stakeholder Mastery: Navigate complex client organizations, managing expectations from the server room to the boardroom, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to the client’s internal teams.

Your Profile

• 8-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure or Enterprise Architecture, with a proven track record in consultancy or high-complexity corporate environments.
• Hybrid Strategy Expert: You know how to make cloud and on-prem talk to each other. You have deep hands-on roots in VMware, Hyper-V, and Enterprise Storage.
• The Bridge Builder: You are as comfortable in the boardroom advising a CTO on TCO and ROI as you are at a whiteboard explaining VLAN-tagging or latency constraints to a Lead Engineer.
• Pragmatic Visionary: You understand ‘Cloud-Native’, but you design for real-world constraints. You know when a factory needs a local server and when a database belongs in the Cloud.
• Framework Fluent: You are familiar with modern architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Azure CAF/WAF) but you use them as tools, not as rigid rules.
• Governance & Security Mindset: You design with Security-by-Design and Compliance (NIS2/ISO) in mind from the first sketch.
• Fluent in Dutch and English. You possess the rare ability to turn complex technical debt into a clear, prioritized transformation roadmap.
